Want to understand the clinical logic of Traditional Chinese Medicine in real healthcare settings?

From classical theory to modern hospitals, from acupuncture and Tuina to Chinese materia medica and food-as-medicine, the appeal of TCM is not confined to textbooks. It comes alive in consultation rooms, clinical cases, and hands-on practice. The 2026 International Advanced Study Program in Traditional Chinese Medicine is now open to learners who are ready to deepen their professional understanding and practical skills.

This is not just another summer course. It is a professional learning journey integrating clinical observation, themed lectures, and practical training:

Step into BUCM-affiliated clinical settings and observe how pattern differentiation and treatment principles are applied in practice;

Join themed sessions on acupuncture, Tuina, Chinese materia medica, and traditional health cultivation to turn knowledge into experience;

Move between campus, hospitals, pharmaceutical enterprises, and Beijing cultural landmarks to explore how TCM’s holistic view and preventive healthcare philosophy connect with contemporary health practices.

By the end of the program, you will take away more than an official BUCM Certificate of Completion. You will gain a clinically grounded, culturally rich, and future-oriented learning experience in TCM.

授课方式：英语授课为主，并根据教学需要提供中英文辅助说明。

Instruction Language: Courses are mainly delivered in English, with Chinese-English support provided where appropriate.

项目地点：北京中医药大学和平街校区、北京中医药大学第三附属医院及相关教学实践基地。

Program Location: BUCM Hepingjie Campus, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and related teaching and practice sites.

 

招生对象：

主要面向中医药、针灸、补充替代医学及相关健康科学专业在读学生，也欢迎对中医药临床实践、传统养生文化和跨文化健康交流感兴趣的教师、青年学者及相关从业人员报名参加。

Target Participants:

The program primarily welcomes students from Canadian universities who are studying TCM, acupuncture, complementary and alternative medicine, or related health sciences. Teachers, young scholars, and professionals interested in TCM clinical practice, traditional health cultivation, and cross-cultural health communication are also encouraged to apply.

 

项目主要内容：

项目采用“临床见习+专题课程+实践训练”三位一体的培养模式。学员将在北京中医药大学第三附属医院等临床教学场景开展系统化临床见习，深入针灸科、中医内科、推拿科等核心科室，在真实医疗环境中观摩诊疗流程、参与病例讨论，理解中医辨证论治的临床逻辑。项目配套设置中医医学史、中药学基础及应用、针灸临床研究、推拿疗法、药食同源、八段锦及十二经脉触诊等专题课程与实践训练，并安排药企参访、校园文化体验及与北京中医药大学学生的互动交流，帮助学员在专业学习与文化体验中全面提升临床思维、实践能力与跨文化沟通能力。

Program Content:

The program adopts an integrated model of clinical observation, themed lectures, and practical training. Participants will take part in systematic clinical observation in clinical teaching settings including the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, including key departments such as acupuncture, internal medicine, and Tuina. In real healthcare environments, they will observe clinical procedures, engage with case-based learning, and understand the logic of TCM pattern differentiation and treatment. The program also includes lectures and workshops on the history of TCM, fundamentals and applications of Chinese materia medica, acupuncture clinical research, Tuina therapy, food-as-medicine, Ba Duan Jin exercises, and palpation of the twelve meridians. In addition, participants will join industry visits, campus cultural experiences, and exchanges with BUCM students, strengthening their clinical thinking, hands-on skills, and cross-cultural communication competence.

 

项目费用说明：

14 天项目费用为 8000 元/人。项目费用包含学费、日程内安排的临床见习费、翻译费、考察参访费用、市内交通费、校园卡制卡费等。

国际旅费、签证费、保险费、项目期间餐费及其他个人消费由参与人自理，具体住宿安排及费用另外沟通。项目组将为学员发放临时校园卡，学员可自行充值用于校内用餐。

 

Program Fee:

The cost of the 14-day program is 8,000 RMB per person. The program fee covers tuition, clinical observation fees as scheduled, interpretation fees, fees for visits and inspections, local transportation fees, and the cost of issuing a campus card.

International travel expenses, visa fees, insurance premiums, meal expenses during the program, and other personal expenses are to be borne by the participants. Accommodation arrangements and related costs will be communicated separately. The program team will issue temporary campus cards to participants, who can recharge them on their own for on-campus meals.
