2026 International Undergraduate Admissions Brochure of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine

I. University Overview

Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education, with traditional Chinese medicine as its core discipline. Established in 1956, it stands as the earliest higher education institution for traditional Chinese medicine approved by the State Council. The university is a key institution under the national "Project 211," a participant in the national "985 Project Innovation Platform," and a member of the national "Double First-Class" initiative. Notably, three disciplines—Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Pharmacy, and Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine—have consistently been selected as national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines.

The university currently operates three directly affiliated hospitals: Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Dongfang Hospital, and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Third Affiliated Hospital. Additionally, it has eight non-directly affiliated hospitals, including Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Fangshan Hospital and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Changping Hospital, as well as the Traditional Chinese Medicine Outpatient Department of Guoyitang. Furthermore, there are 25 clinical teaching bases, such as Xiyuan Hospital, Guang'anmen Hospital, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Wangjing Hospital, and Beijing Hospital, which are responsible for clinical teaching, probation, and internships for all students.

The university continues to make significant contributions to the development of a global health community. In 1991, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine established the TCM KLINIK BAD in Germany, pioneering the establishment of characteristic traditional Chinese medicine hospitals overseas by Chinese universities and setting a benchmark for the globalization of traditional Chinese medicine. Subsequently, "Overseas Traditional Chinese Medicine Centers" integrating medical care, education, scientific research, and cultural dissemination were established in Australia, the United States, Russia, and Malaysia, offering an effective "BUCM Solution" for the international advancement of traditional Chinese medicine.
